M&C has joined the ranks of the top 100 of "Britain's Most Admired Companies". The survey by leading business magazine Management Today is the definitive guide to the most respected businesses in the United Kingdom. Companies are rated by those best placed to judge - their competitors. M&C came in at number 91 in the overall rankings of 248 companies.
In conjunction with Nottingham, Derby and Aston Business Schools, Management Today asked Britain's 10 largest public companies in 25 sectors to evaluate their peers (in one sector there were only eight public players). In addition to the companies, which totalled 248, analysts at 15 leading investment banks were also polled.
Performance was rated against nine key characteristics: quality of management; financial soundness; ability to attract, develop and retain top talent; quality of goods/services; value as a long-term investment; capacity to innovate; quality of marketing; community and environmental responsibility; and use of corporate assets. Participants rated each company in their sector on a scale of one to 10 with one being poor, five being average and 10 being excellent.
The survey, into its ninth year, was featured in the December issue of Management Today.
M&C now owns and operates a total of 117 hotels in 13 countries. It is one of the top 15 hotel operators in the world. M&C is the international hotel arm of the CDL Hotels group, which is controlled by the Hong Leong Group Singapore.
