CDL's Summerhill To Help Attract Donations for Kidney Patients

CDL 's condominium will be the top prize of the annual NKF Charity Draw once again for the sixth consecutive year. For this year's Charity Draw starting from 15 June to 2 July, callers will stand to win a Summerhill condominium.

CDL's Managing Director Kwek Leng Joo expressed, "As a developer, CDL is glad that its residential projects have been used in a meaningful way to contribute towards a worthy cause. It is gratifying for us to note that the use of CDL 's condominium as the top prize has provided a strong incentive for callers to donate funds in aid of kidney patients, thereby helping NKF to meet or even exceed their annual fundraising target in the past few years."

Since 1995, CDL has supported the annual NKF Charity Drive and our residential projects were the top prizes of the telepoll call-in Grand Lucky Draw, the only annual charity event in Singapore to offer a condominium as a prize. A close association has been established between CDL and NKF due to successful and long term joint efforts in raising funds for kidney patients in Singapore.

CDL is always committed to being a caring corporate citizen by helping the sick and needy. In April this year, CDL organised a charity bowling tournament in aid of cancer patients, raising $100,000 and $30,000 for Assisi Home & Hospice and Children's Cancer Foundation respectively. Apart from donating money to charitable causes, CDL has added a personal touch in their efforts to contribute to worthy causes. In June 1999, CDL set up a staff volunteer club, namely City Sunshine Club, with a mission is to "light up the lives of the less fortunate by offering help and friendship". The Club activated a befrienders programme whereby staff would pay regular visits to some of the elderly in their homes and distribute food to them.
