City Developments Limited (CDL) is the first property developer in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Singapore to receive the Building and Construction Authority’s (BCA) Quality Mark certification for high workmanship standards for a residential project, The Equatorial. A pioneering i-home property, The Equatorial was credited for its excellent workmanship standards for the internal furnishings for each and every apartment, following six architectural elements – floor, internal wall, ceiling, door, windows and fixtures. These cover all locations within the units (bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, living & dining rooms, utility yard, where applicable). The certification further endorsed The Equatorial’s outstanding quality, which gained the property the Construction Quality Assessment System (CONQUAS) score of 87.5, the highest score ever given to any residential property in Singapore.

Supporting the BCA's efforts towards raising construction quality in Singapore, CDL's General Manager, Projects, Mr Eddie Wong said, "As a developer which puts top priority in delivering quality homes, CDL is honoured to be the first developer to receive BCA's Quality Mark certification. This is a commendable initiative by BCA, which will help raise the overall quality of homes in Singapore, greatly benefiting homeowners. About fourteen members and resource members from the Government Parliamentary Committee for National Development visited two City Developments Limited's (CDL) projects, The Equatorial and Goldenhill Villas today.

Over at the Goldenhill Villas, CDL's General Manager, Projects, Mr Eddie Wong briefed GPC-MND members on another of CDL's industry-first innovation – the pre-cast (Lego-style) construction system adopted in landed property to ensure consistent high quality finish. CDL is the first property developer to embark on the innovative use of pre-cast construction on a large scale for a landed property. Goldenhill Villas has been commended for its extensive use of pre-cast construction by BCA, which led to a buildable score of 75, well above the minimum required for landed residential developments.

The achievement at The Equatorial and Goldenhill Villas demonstrates CDL's sustained efforts to deliver quality homes to buyers, and maintains CDL's position as an innovative property pioneer in Singapore.
